We are seeking a creative and forward-thinking Science specialist to take a lead role in shaping and developing our KS3 Science curriculum. This is an exciting opportunity to raise the profile of Science in Years 7 and 8 and ensure that students build strong foundations for future success at GCSE and beyond.

As Year 7 and 8 Development Lead for Science, you will drive a clear and coherent vision for an engaging and knowledge-rich curriculum. You will ensure that schemes of work are carefully sequenced, challenging, and inclusive, enabling all students to develop secure scientific understanding, curiosity, and confidence in disciplinary and analytical skills. You will champion Science as a means of fostering critical thinking, problem solving, and a love of discovery, and will collaborate with colleagues to ensure these principles are embedded across teaching and learning.

You will ensure these aims are realised through the development of high-quality curriculum materials and assessment strategies that clearly define the key knowledge, skills, and disciplinary understanding required for progression. You will work to ensure consistency and equity in curriculum delivery across classes and teachers, and that lessons are aligned with the department’s shared pedagogical principles.

The successful candidate will be expected to attend leadership meetings and work closely with Senior Leaders and fellow Curriculum Leaders to contribute to whole-school curriculum development and continuous improvement.
